I was up in an airplane today taking pictures for the 2nd edition of The Slide Guide. Saw ski tracks all over the high peaks including these ones heading into the Trap Dike. Nice!

There are still a few spots left in Chuck Boyd’s National Ski Patrol Level 1 Avalanche Course next weekend at Whiteface Ski Area.

The 10th Annual Adirondack Backcountry Ski Festival saw brief rain and snow showers on Saturday morning followed by a beautiful blue sky in the afternoon. Three sold out guided tours embarked into the high peaks and others descended to North Country School for the free ski demo and mini clinics. Later Saturday night Glen Plake gave a memorable presentation at the Keene Valley School.
